Day Nursery is a purpose built nursery situated within the grounds of Pilgrim Hospital. We work in partnership with the Hospital to provide childcare for NHS Trust staff, and we are also open to the general public. We are a 59 place day nursery, with 15 under two spaces and 44 over two spaces. The nursery is open 7.00am - 6.00pm, Monday to Friday, 52 weeks
a year (closing only for Bank Holidays).
To view our latest 2016 Ofsted Inspection report in which we achieved Good in all areas, please click here.
Our meals are prepared by the Hospital and are well balanced and nutritional. We can cater for all dietary requirements. Good manners and social skills are encouraged at meal times and throughout our nursery day.
We offer nursery education places for 3 and 4 year olds for 38 weeks per year for a maximum of 15 hours per week.
Our nursery is open plan and spacious, with all of the rooms interconnecting. Each room has a Room Head and a Deputy and a mix of nursery nurses and assistants. Each child is given their own Key Worker, which they will keep for the duration of their stay in that specific room.
We have a Baby room for children up to 18/ 21months, a Toddler room and a Preschool room. All children move out of the Toddler room when they are three and will stay in the Preschool until they leave us.
We have a wide range of age appropriate toys and equipment in each room. This ensures that the children will be achieving their developmental stages through play. This equipment ranges from table top activities, computer software, role play toys, construction etc, through to soft play, sports and ride on toys to encourage gross motor skills.
We welcome you to look around so please ring the nursery to book a time.
