Our Managing Director, David Lang, pictured above, was part of the winning England team at the International Fly Fishing Association Spring Match held at Loch Lein, Ireland on 9th June 2006. He was one of 14 members who contributed to England’s winning catch of 55 trout for 25lb 10oz, beating other teams from the home nations.
Staff and children at our Springfield Lodge Montessori Day Nursery in Scartho, Grimsby, gave David a surprise party to celebrate his success. Manager, Jenny Rice said: “He kept quite quiet about it. We heard he had won and wanted to do something for him. It is an absolutely huge achievement and he has done very well.”
David, who also came away with an individual win for the heaviest fish, a trout which weighed 1lb 1.2oz, was presented with a bottle of champagne.
