The Woodlands Day Nursery opened its doors in October 1997. This bright, cheery and busy nursery occupies a purpose built single story building set in a large enclosed, well-equipped outdoor play area overlooking a rural environment.    The warm and welcoming atmosphere ensures the children are settled and secure.

The building comprises a bright and colourful baby room with lots of toys to play with and a separate sleep room; a toddler room with well-planned and inviting activities, with access to our outdoor play area;   a spacious open plan area for the 2-4 year olds, working in two groups.   The children attending the nursery have the opportunity to experience lots of learning activities and purposeful play in the different areas of the nursery Curriculum, Birth to Three Matters and Foundation Stage.

The nursery is open 7.30am - 6.00pm, Monday to Friday, 52 weeks a year (closing only for Bank Holidays). Our meals are freshly prepared on site, they are nutritious and all dietary requirements are catered for.

The caring and well being of the children is uppermost. As well as education, we develop their confidence, self esteem and independence through planned activites and play.

We offer nursery education places for 3 and 4 year olds for 38 weeks per year for a maximum of 5 sessions per week.   Each session lasts for 2 1/2 hours, with well planned foundation stage activities available.

Through training, staff regularly update their knowledge and skills.   The Nursery is working towards NDNA Quality Counts Award.   We have achieved the Investors in People Award for the third time.   Our excellent Ofsted report can be viewed on their web site.
