The Carlton Day Nursery is a purpose built nursery situated behind the Carlton Centre on Outer Circle Road Lincoln.
The Nursery is registered for 64 children aged from birth to eight years. We are open from 07.30am to 6.00pm, Monday to Friday. We receive nursery education vouchers for 3 and 4 year olds for 38 weeks per year for a maximum of 5 sessions per week. Each session lasts for 2 1/2 hours.
The nursery has been designed with the health and safety of the children as high priority. Our nursery has under floor heating therefore eliminating the risk of bumps on radiators. On entering the nursery you will see our security systems which prevents anyone gaining access to the nursery without first being identified;
once into the foyer a member of staff then releases the next door which leads into the hallway. Besides the office two other rooms have the TV camera screens also. To leave the nursery again someone has to release the electronic lock.
 The self- contained baby unit for the under twos is a large and airy room decorated in pastel colours. There is a separate wet play area, low windows and quiet rest areas for the babies to sleep. There are many different pieces of equipment, all designed to encourage babies' all round development. The room is divided into 3 areas.
We  have a physical playroom for the over twos, containing a selection of apparatus
to develop the children's confidence and physical development. The equipment in this room is changed on a regular basis. There are mirrors on the walls and the size of the room also enables the children to undertake music and movement activities. There is also access to the
enclosed garden area.
We also have a pre schoolroom, which has resources for the development of social play, mathematical and language skills.  There is a quiet area where the children can look at books whilst using all the bright soft cushions. We have a corner in the room, which can be changed into different role-playing activities such as a kitchen, doctors, house, and shop. There are also tables and chairs for the children to use for table activities. From this room the children can go to the outside area or sit in the bay to look outside as
all the windows are at low level.
We have a creative room with non-slip floor coverings and in here the children can use sand and water, dough and clay, gluing and sticking, painting and printing. There is also a low sink designed so the children can mix their own paints, fill their water jugs and wash their cups. This room also doubles up as a dining room.
The sensory room is a small room offering freedom of choice and access to the computer. Children can explore their senses and take part in singing, music and circle time.
All meals are freshly prepared on a daily basis in the fully fitted out kitchen and all dietary needs are catered for. Menus are on display and planned on a four-week rota.
