Welcome to the County Hospital Day Nursery. We are a 42 place day nursery with spaces for 12 children under the age of two and 30 spaces available for children aged between two and four. We are open throughout the year with the exception of bank holidays. Our opening times are 06.45am to 18.00pm Monday to Friday. We offer full or part time care.
Within the under twos we have five members of staff who work on a 1:3 ratio. We work closely with parents so we can build a trusting and happy relationship. To help us achieve this we offer visits before you start - this gives new parents the opportunity to meet the staff and spend some time in the nursery. This will hopefully make your first day a little less daunting. We have two separate playrooms, each are equipped with age related toys that encourage the children to develop new skills by giving them new experiences and opportunities for them to explore freely. Sand, water, creative work, outside play, singing and story sessions are also enjoyed by the children. And for those little ones that find it all a little too exhausting we have a separate sleep room.
Our over twos consist of two groups. We have the Ladybirds for the two and three year old children and the Butterflies for the three and four year old children. Free flow is used throughout both groups with the chidren choosing what they would like to play with and leading the play. Planning is taken from the children's lead, with the exception of some adult led activities such as cooking or visiting the library van. The children are encouraged to explore new opportunities to help them develop new skills within the zoned areas. For example, the creative zone, ICT zone, imaginative zone to name but a few. We have a quiet zone for those who want to relax and have some time to themselves or maybe a little nap.
We at the County are committed to each child being able to develop as an individual in his/her own right, we encourage them to become independent and confident so the transition to "big" school is less traumatic. This is all achieved within a caring environment.
The EYFS is used throughout the nursery, and each child is given a key person, who you can see at anytime or at the twice yearly parent evenings.
We accept the nursery education funding for three and four year old children. This is for 38 weeks a year with a maximum of 5 sessions a week being available, each session is for 2.5 hours and they run from either 9.00am - 11.30am or 13.00.pm - 15.30pm.
The nursery is situated inside the grounds of the County Hospital, within the historic part of Lincoln. The cathedral, castle and the local arboretum are all within short walking distance.
We can offer the following:
- Purpose built garden
- All staff hold a relevant childcare qualification
- All vouchers accepted, such as Busy Bee, Care4
- NHS discount given
- Flexi places available (limited numbers)
- Healthy and nutritious cooked lunch
The nursery has an excellent reputation within the City; the success of the nursery is due to the highly motivated staff who are proud of the job they do.
Please feel free to call on 01522 573081 to arrange a visit, or a brochure. Please leave a message if we cannot get to the phone, we will always call you back.
